We are the UK’s leading supplier of Canadian and US SIM cards. SIMple Calling is a unique new SIM card that offers coverage in Canada and the USA under a US number range. By using a SIMple Calling SIM you can avoid all mobile roaming charges, make calls to the UK from just 40 p/min and have a new American mobile number before you leave the UK. UK mobile networks, International SIM and Global SIM card providers still charge as much as £1.20 p/min to make a call and £1.00 p/min to receive a call in Canada, so the savings can be enormous!
How does the Pay-As-You-Go service work?
All you need to do is ensure that you have an unlocked Tri-Band mobile handset and then simply switch your UK SIM card for your new SIM card on arrival. The SIMple Calling SIM card works on a Pay-As-You-Go basis therefore to continue using the SIM card you need to add credit to your account. Top-Ups can be purchased online or over the phone and the SIM card is provided with initial starter credit of £6.00. Calls are made and received directly in the same way as a standard national network.
SIM card registration and activation
The US mobile number is detailed within the SIMpack you receive. Activation of the SIM card is quick and easy and can be done on-line or via the phone before you travel. Full details are included in the user guides.
Incoming Call & Text (SMS) Charges
Please note that, unlike Europe and many other countries, in Canada and America you pay to receive calls and Text (SMS) messages as well as to make a call or send a Text (SMS). This is normal practice.
International Calls from just 40p/min
With the SIMple Calling SIM for Canada you pay exactly the same (30 p/min) to make a call to a Canadian landline or a mobile and it only costs just 40p/min to call a UK or European landline from Canada! Calls to international mobiles cost only you 57p/min. That’s a saving of 75% compared to roaming!
Coverage
The SIMple Calling SIM card provides excellent coverage in Canada as well as the USA (including Alaska and Hawaii). SIMple Calling enjoys the benefits of coverage provided across Canada by Rogers and with T.Mobile and AT&T, the largest GSM operators in the USA. To see the coverage map please click here. Coverage is not provided within the UK. Please check the coverage before you depart as unfortunately we cannot issue a refund for poor coverage.
Validity
The +44 UK number is valid as long as you keep your account active and the +1 US number option is valid for 4 months from last use. To keep your account and +44 UK number active you must top it up at least once every 15 months and to preserve existing credit you need to make a call or send a text every 9 months (or 4 months for the US number). If you do not make a call or send a text within these validity periods, your remaining credit will be lost and you will need to top up again (minimum $30US) to re-instate any lost credit. Unused credit rolls forward and is added to the new amount when a top up is made. The ability to make outbound calls in the US and Canada is temporarily suspended 7 days after the last use in those countries. However, the US number remains active and can receive calls and text messages for up to 4 months after suspension and existing credit is also maintained. If the US number is not used for 4 months the US calling option can easily be re-activated by calling customer services or by dialing 870, although a new US number may be issued. To maintain your existing US number past the 4 month validity period you may opt to pay a fee of 31p per month and this can be activated and cancelled via your web based account.
Triband Handset
In Canada and the USA, GSM operators use GSM 850 or 1900 frequency. Therefore you need either a tri-band or a dual band handset that has GSM 850 or 1900 capability; otherwise your mobile handset will not work in Canada or the USA. Here is a list of some of the best-selling Tri-Band handsets that will work in Canada, the USA and most of the world. Please check that your handset is tri-band compatible before departing.
Additional Credit
The SIMple Calling SIM card is supplied with initial starter credit of £6.00 and you can add further credit as soon as you receive the SIM card and after activation. Credit can be added on-line or via the phone and call history and records can also be managed via the on-line services. Top ups are accepted in $USD. Balances can also be obtained through short dial codes which activate a response text displaying your balance. Credit (minimum top up $30US) can be added with a credit card only - unfortunately debit cards are not accepted for top ups but may be used to purchase the initial SIM card. Automatic recharges can also be requested to ensure you never run out of call credit during an important call.USA local number
A USA number is assigned with every SIM card. This US number is based in greater Los Angeles, but the call rates detailed above mean that your calls are cost effective regardless of where you are based in Canada or the US as detailed above. Important; please note that occasionally inbound text messages (particularly if originating from South Africa) can experience delays or may not complete. This is due to a review of international network termination agreements and should be a short term factor. Should you experience this problem at any time please email ekit immediately for support at; mobile@ekit.comVoicemail
Voicemail is automatically enabled. An inbound caller will be directed to voicemail if the call is not answered within 30 seconds, if the phone is switched off or if there is no coverage. A text message will be sent indicating that there is a new Voicemail.Cheap International Calls to Canada – from just 2p/min!

Travelling to more than one destination?
Many SIM cards are limited to use within their home territory, so if you plan to
make stop overs on the way to, or from, your main destination, or simply visit several
countries then why not consider a Global SIM
or International SIM. Call rates and text
rates will help you make savings and in many countries you still benefit from free
incoming calls on a Global SIM
or International SIM.
