What do I get for my money?
In addition to the great call savings, you'll get a FREE French SIM, English voicemail, a French mobile number, English instructions and FREE inclusive local calls!

How does it work?
You simply subscribe to a 6 month contract** at £6.99, £14.99 or £29.99 per month. On the Basic plan (£6.99) all calls, text (SMS) and data usage are then billed in addition to the line rental fee on a monthly basis. However, Plan 50 (£14.99) and Plan 150 (£29.99) feature inclusive minutes bundles detailed on the tariff below which can be used for local calls.

Every month you will receive your itemised bill via email. It could not be easier. All you need to do is ensure that your mobile handset is unlocked and then simply switch your UK SIM card for your new French SIM card on arrival.

All call rates described above are to mobile and land line numbers.

* Call the UK for the same rate as a local call!
You can now call UK landlines for the same price as a local French call and if you are on the inclusive 50 or inclusive 150 plans you can now use your local free minutes!

How does it work?

  1. From you Orange France SIM dial: 0811 53 53 53
  2. Dial your desired UK landline number including the dialing code (0044)
  3. Talk for as long as you want.

If you run out of your inclusive minutes you will then be charged at the standard local call rate.
Basic Plan: 20p/min flat rate. Once inclusive minutes used; Inclusive 50: 20p/min and Inclusive 150: 20p/min.

What solution is best for me?
We would recommend the Basic Plan for customers who visit France regularly and wish to avoid the inconvenience of a Pay-As-You-Go SIM card, whilst making great savings and receiving English customer support. If you live, work or plan to study in France and spend £15-£30 per month on your UK mobile phone we would definitely recommend the Inclusive plans. However, if after 3 months of your contract you wish to move plan (upwards) just contact us and we will change your plan.

Inclusive minutes contracts
The inclusive minutes contracts are detailed above with the maximum available minutes used for local calls within France. However, each month a portion of the inclusive minutes may be used for international calls to the UK as well. As an example, on the ‘50 plan’ you have a maximum of 50 minutes of local rate calls at 20 p/min included every month e.g £10.00. However, if you make a mixture of local calls (20p/min) and international calls (30p/min) then this will reduce the amount of inclusive minutes available each month as the per minute value of an international call to the UK is higher. Once the value of inclusive minutes (e.g £10.00 on plan 50) is used then the calls are billed at the rates described above.

Why should I get a Pay-Monthly SIM rather than a prepaid SIM?
Not only will you save in excess of 50% on call charges you will also receive the following advantages:

  • English voicemail.
  • 24/7 English customer support.
  • No need to top-up.
  • No expiry periods on your credit.
  • Full itemised bill – claim back VAT.
  • Data enabled. (3G SIM available upon request)

Why should I get a Pay-Monthly SIM card from 0044 rather than a French Network?
Because we have taken all of the hassle out of dealing with a French network whilst providing the better value for money and additional features such as English customer support, English Voicemail, English fully itemised billing and delivery directly to your address in France or in the UK.

Also, it is very difficult for English customers to obtain a mobile contract directly with a French network due to the requirement of a French credit history. There are no such problems when acquiring a contract through ourselves.

** Subscription Period promotion
Exclusive Spring/Summer 2009 – Subscribe to any of the three tariffs before end Dec 2009 and benefit from a 6 month minimum period!
Take out any French Pay-monthly contract before the end of Dec 2009 and you’re only committing to a 6 month term. After that 6 month term you can either email us and request to end the contract or simply continue running it on a month by month basis – there are no rolling 6 month periods and so it’s a great way to experience the unique benefits of the 0044 French pay-monthly contracts with maximum flexibility and minimal commitment.

Outside of these promotional periods normal contract minimums of 6 months for the Inclusive 150 Plan, 9 months for the Inclusive 50 Plan and 12 months for the Basic Plan usually apply.

How am I billed?
Once a month you are provided with a detailed breakdown of your call history and the amounts owing, via email (or by post providing a specific request is made). The monthly bill can then be automatically paid either by French or UK based credit card or via direct debit mandate (DDM) through a UK bank account. When completing the order process you’ll be required to submit your credit card details if you wish to pay via credit card. If you prefer to set up a DDM then select that option, but also include your credit card details as well as part of the security and verification process and the relevant DDM forms will be posted to you for you to complete and return. Monthly rental payments and set up costs unfortunately cannot be accepted on a debit card, only via credit cards or a DDM associated with your UK bank account. If you do not have a credit card but wish to pay via direct debit then we are only able to accept a DDM application providing a parent’s credit card is used in the security and verification process. The first minute of a call is billed as one minute and then in 30 second periods thereafter.

Important Information
You may be requested to provide additional proof of I. D. via fax, email or post immediately after purchase to verify your application, credit card and delivery address. This is a quick and simple process and ensures you will receive the SIM card promptly and securely, usually within 3-5 working days from date of order when a credit card is used as the billing method or, if DDM payment is selected, 7-10 days from receipt of the completed signed DDM forms. If your departure date is immanent then please contact us immediately after completing your application so we can address any priority requirements.

Delivery options
Once the application is approved your French Pay-monthly SIM will be delivered either to your UK billing address you supplied and will require a signature to ensure safe receipt, or an alternative address. Alternative delivery arrangements can be made by emailing us, immediately after you complete the on-line application, with your order number and change of delivery requirements. Deliveries can be made to French addresses providing your name is recognised by the French postal service at your address (or, if renting, your name c/o a landlord at the French address). Deliveries can also be made to a relative's address in the UK if you no longer own a UK property. Delivery to France incurs an additional £5.00 charge.

Coverage
Please check the coverage before you depart. Our SIM card offers coverage for 92%+ of the population. To see the coverage map please click here.

Please note; Orange France may restrict access to certain non geographical UK business numbers (0845, 0800 etc) so we’d recommend that you establish the full UK geographical number for your bank, insurance company, travel operator or for any other UIK numbers you may need to call from France in case this restriction applies.

GPRS Internet Connection

With GPRS you are able to access email and the Internet from a phone or from a laptop or PDA using your phone, while maintaining a constant connection. The peak data transfer speeds range from 26kbps - 52kbps depending on the hardware used.

Our price of £3.50/MB offers a massive saving compared to the £10.00/MB charged by UK network operators whilst in France. GPRS is an ideal solution if you do not have a landline internet connection or require access to emails whilst on the move.

Examples of applications that require or are suited to GPRS include:

  • Sending and receiving email. Large attachments may download more slowly than text-only email
  • Internet browsing

As you will be connected with GPRS for long periods of time, you are generally only charged for the information transferred.

One megabyte = 500 wap pages = 20 web pages = 25 emails, approximately.

The French Orange SIMs we provide are GSM/GPRS enabled. This means that you may access data at GPRS speeds with a suitable handset once the settings have been configured. The cost of data is set at £3.50 pMB with the French Pay-monthly SIM. If the device you use is 3G enabled then the SIM will operate at 3G speeds, providing 3G is available in that location, at the same £3.50 pMB cost but obviously the experience will be quicker and more efficient than the GPRS links.

Roaming

For security reasons roaming is not available by default on the SIM card. However you can activate roaming by providing a deposit once in receipt of the SIM card. Alternatively, if you merely wish to check your voicemail whilst roaming (in the UK) this can be easily done by remotely calling your new French mobile number from a landline and entering your security code.

Expats, second home owners and regular travelers
Our Pay-Monthly SIM cards are ideal if you are moving to France or travel to France on a regular basis. Typically it is very difficult to get a contract in France due to credit checks. However we simply bill your UK credit card. In addition to this having a local French number is a massive advantage when trying to integrate into the local community. Compared to taking your UK SIM card you can save up to 90% on call costs. You will also receive your new Orange French mobile number before you leave the UK so that you can hand it out to friends and family. In addition to this we are the only network to offer free inclusive calls to the UK!

Gap year students / studying or working in France
Our Pay-Monthly French SIM cards will allow you to stay in touch and make calls at local rates whilst in France. You will also not have the inconvenience of having to top-up since the SIM is charged on a monthly basis.

Business Traveller
Our French SIM card will enable you to reduce your communication costs dramatically whilst in France. You will not have to bother with the hassle of topping up and you will also be able to use our SIM cards for 3G data access.
