• Who's it for?

  Whether on a temporary basis in a second home, as a permanent resident or perhaps even at the start of the process looking for that ideal property, the requirement to use mobile data from Spain on a regular basis is more important than ever these days. However, sometimes it can still be a vastly expensive commitment or very difficult to understand and set up. • What sort of technology and equipment do I need?

  A laptop computer, suitable desktop PC, tablet based device, Mifi router or USB. Please note the 0044 data SIM plans are not suitable for Smartphone usage and any costs incurred while doing so will be charged at the prevailing network overage rate. If you require clarification about device suitability or charges please email us prior to purchase. Standard SIMs and micro-SIMs are available at checkout depending on the device you plan to use. Please email us after you have placed your order if you require a nano SIM.

• How easy is it to set-up?

  Very easy indeed. It really is a ‘plug & play’ experience. All you need to do is configure your APN settings

• How does it compare to UK roaming and what can I save?

  Our Spanish data solutions offer amazing value when compared to local Spanish offerings and can create huge savings against UK mobile network data offers. As an example, one major UK network currently provides roamed data in Spain for £35.99 per 50MB but only if you have a 24 month voice contract in place and then subscribe to an additional data bundle that meets your needs. That’s a huge commitment for most. Our unique Spanish data solutions are simple and can save you more than 80% and without the commitment to a long term contract.
  
  Our research also shows that an average Spanish landline broadband connection can cost you in the region of 30-50 Euros per month on a 12 month contract, so the 0044 data solutions can easily deliver savings as well as greater flexibility and use while you are on the move.

• How am I billed?

  You can apply for an account on-line or over the phone and choose which method you’d prefer to pay by. The initial order is made via a credit card. The monthly plan can then be automatically paid for either by Spanish or UK based credit card or via direct debit mandate (DDM) through a UK bank account.

• How good is the coverage?

  Please check the coverage before you depart unfortunately we cannot issue a refund for poor coverage.

• Data calculator - how much will I need?

  We understand that, for most users, your internet access and experience to date will have been mainly based on UK home use on a broadband connection. However, this does not necessarily replicate what your on-line experience may be through other points of internet access, such as our mobile USB solution. From our experience consumers can very easily use considerable amounts of data without knowing exactly how much they have consumed. However, the 0044 Spanish data solution creates a simple answer to the problem. The bundle is fixed and therefore you may use it without fear of additional charges being incurred in the month. A fair usage policy applies to prevent miss-use, but this merely results in the speed changing and does not involve extra unplanned costs.
  
  (We would strongly advise against streaming live television programs or downloading films via your laptop using our data solutions as this activity can use up your data allowance quickly and result in lower speed data feeds. Please also be aware that links on many websites can involve being routed to high capacity data usage such as video and audio streaming without you necessarily being aware.)
  
  The Orange Spain Business Anywhere software does provide data usage monitoring facilities, as do certain web browsers. However, such data monitoring devices are not necessarily reflective of actual network usage and should therefore only be used as an approximate guide.

• How will this affect my email address?

  You’ll be able to maintain your existing email address and dial into that account remotely from Spain to check any emails and respond. Using POP email or Web based email won’t affect receiving email with the USB, as the email is received over the internet, so it doesn't matter what internet connection you use. Full user guides and technical support are provided with the USB stick to ensure you get set up with the minimum amount of hassle.

• Why should I buy from 0044 and not through my UK network or when I arrive?

  For a start we’ll make it extremely easy for you to understand, set up and buy into – whatever your requirements. You’ll also have the best deal available to you in the UK before you leave and the comfort and peace of mind knowing that it’s all set up before you travel and fully supported from the UK for after sales aspects should you require them whilst you are away. Flexibility of buying in on short or long term deals is also a great benefit and means you’ll be able to tailor the package to suit your needs – even as they change.
  
  Similar services can be set up in Spain directly with most major networks, but we’d advise you to do your research, make sure you have a good grasp of the language, including technical terms and in certain cases you’ll need a proven credit history for some of the pay-monthly deals on offer. Equally you may be asked to commit to lengthy contracts going direct to a Spanish network and these can sometimes be significant.
  
  UK mobile operators also proclaim to provide data on the move, internet access from your laptop and mobile plus many other exciting offers. However, in setting up the 0044 data packages our research showed them to be overly complicated, dependent on high commitment to a contract and with little or no clear information on pricing for data usage outside of the UK. Bear in mind these will no doubt incur roaming charges and could therefore be a lot higher than UK usage.

A set up fee of £10.00 applies to the USB or SIM only offers. Delivery to a Spanish address incurs an additional £5.00 charge.

• Important Information

  You may be requested to provide additional proof of I. D. via fax, email or post immediately after purchase to verify your application, credit card and delivery address. This is a quick and simple process and ensures you will receive the equipment promptly and securely, usually within 3-5 working days from date of order when a credit card is used as the billing method or, if DDM payment is selected, 7-10 days from receipt of the completed signed DDM forms. If your departure date is imminent then please contact us immediately after completing your application so we can address any priority requirements.

• Data usage and validity

  Data Plans are a minimum period of 1 month and once the minimum period has been met they run on a month to month basis. Equally, if you only require the data bundle for another week or two after the initial month the billing is calculated on a pro-rata basis so you do not need to pay for another full month if you do not require it, as a credit will be issued. Once you have finished with the data SIM you simply email us and return it via a secure method and your account is then finalised. If you decide to take a break of more than a month and order another individual bundle later we simply send you a new SIM to insert in the USB and activate your data account in line with your future needs.
  
  The SIM and/or device are billed up front initially then monthly on a 30 day period. The rental and activation commences upon delivery. At the end of the minimum period of rental, or when you are ready to terminate the agreement, please email us for returns instructions. Once the returns address has been provided the equipment must be returned via a secure method and on receipt of the SIM the account will be settled. If a SIM is returned mid month then an additional month may be billed but will be credited to reflect usage on a pro-rata basis.

• Delivery options

  Once the application is approved your equipment will be delivered to your UK billing address and will require a signature to ensure safe receipt. Alternative delivery arrangements can be made by emailing us, immediately after you complete the on-line application, with your order number and change of delivery requirements. Deliveries can be made to Spanish addresses providing your name is recognised by the Spanish postal service at your address (or, if renting, your name c/o a landlord at the Spanish address). Delivery of the USB and activation of mobile data services is based upon the selection you make during payment. If immediate data activation is requested the USB will be dispatched immediately (within 48 hrs of receipt of your ID) and the data activated. If the data activation is deferred to the following month then the USB delivery is also deferred. Deliveries can also be made to a relative's address in the UK if you no longer own a UK property.

• Roaming

  For security reasons roaming is not available by default on 0044 Spanish mobile data solutions. However you can activate the roaming feature outside of Spain by providing a refundable security deposit (£150) once in receipt of the equipment (please Email Us to set up). Please note your standard Spanish data bundles cannot be used when roaming outside of Spain and the following roaming charges apply when data roaming has been activated.
